This support article provides instruction how to send an encrypted email message to an external contact, outside of your company.
The email encryption feature within Microsoft 365 is only available with the proper licensing. Contact Cybertronics for details.
Solution:
Web app
- Click the link below to access the Outlook app:
https://outlook.office.com/mail/ - Select the New Mail button:
- Within the compose window, select the Options tab, then select the Encrypt button (lock icon), and then select Encrypt:
A notification will display at the top, indicating that the message will be sent with encryption: - Once you have finished composing the email message, click the Send button.
Please note that the email recipient will be provided instructions on how to access the secure message. This is done via a one time password. We recommend you send a test email to an external email address you manage (ie: your personal email). This will guide you through the workflow, and you can then instruct email recipients on how to view the secure message, if they are unfamiliar with the process.
Note: You can also send encrypted messages from group mailboxes as well.
